"These towns are filled with tons of young hippies. In Newburyport there are a lot of cool little coffee houses located on an old 1800 waterfront. Many places to toke up and everything is always readily available. People such as Toots and the Maytalls, Livingston Taylor (James' bro) and David Grisman have performed in this small town."

My Score:

Comment: yeah i can see how someone could think newburyport is a hippie-haven, but I''ve lived in the area my whole life and now i reside in the amherst-northampton area, and newburyport is no hippie haven. its full of rich snobby socialites, its expensive, and very touristy. i mean, they all kept me employed in my teen years so im not complaining, but i definately wouldnt compare it with amherst and northampton. and there are only a few coffee shops, and its kind of too touristic to toke up downtown. but im not telling any local toke spots, those are for us locals only.
peace and love!
