MardiGrass Nimbin Australia

Mardigrass in Nimbin was a total gas! Nearly 10,000 people came out to celebrate marijuana over this three day event. I'm amazed that such a place exists, much less in a conservative country like Australia (yes, most of the place is conservative).
The main theme of Mardigrass is protesting Australia's arcane marijuana laws. A number of speakers lent their voice to the growing chorus in Australia for change. The police stood back while people smoked openly in the streets in the thousands.
The VW combi (van) parade was fun, as was the attempt to set a world record for number of joints fired up simultaneously at 4:20 (not sure if it set a record, but it sure was a "highlight"!
Nimbin is full of some amazing characters. Old hippies mostly, many are growers or alternative businessmen.
A contest was held to judge the best entries from cannabis growers. The selection of smoke rivaled that of Amsterdam, with fresh sweet sativa and sweet smooth bubble hash the best in my book. Both were organically grown outdoors, the only way to go...

Comment: i smoke every day, i smoke the best of Marocan and i love the taste of Libanon. usually i smoke 1 joint aday, mostly becurse i can get CHEAP ICE so 1 joint is enough for being VERY stoned for 6-7 hrs.

Comment: I have travelled the world going to different hemp festival''s and cannabis cup''s.Only to find the best,right in my own country Australia.
Nimbin 2006 was my first time,And we tried to help out with a few giveaway''s (Nirvana caps and t-shirt''s)
I now breed for myself under the name Pottysworld and look forward to being at Nimbin again this year.
I plan on really backing the event this year,with giveaways numbering in the 1000''s (T-shirts,caps,lighter''s and much more)

i live 30 mins away from nimbin and ive been goin 2 mardi grass for the last 6 years and i must say its the greatest event i have ever personally been involved in because the atmosphere is just amazing there is no hate at all, you dont have 2 worry about getting critised for the way you are because everyone else is happy and full of love
