"Montreal and Quebec also have huge countercultural activity. If you're looking for cheap drugs you've come to the right place. Rent is super cheap, but jobs may not be available."
"Just want to add a note about Montreal. This is a city with a lot of Spirit. It's a place where freedom and individuality are cherished. Where people can still get by doing their art & music. Where hundreds of drummers and dancers meet on the mountain to celebrate regularly. Where you can always find a good veggie meal, and share a spliff on the street with a friend. Many Rainbow Family folks here too."

Comment: Where to live in Montreal? Where can you hide out. Need a biog, big break from society and have a little money coming in on its own (not much, though, is it expensive?). Do they leave you alone with your kids? Reply here or to worldwidemusic@nospam.hushmail.com (please remove the "no spam"

Comment: ive lived in arcata, visited san francisco several times, hung out all over vermont, done many different fun things in ithaca and woodstock over the last several years, chilled in new paltz, and spent some time relaxing on cape cods national seashore. and those are only the "hip" places ive hung out, lets not get into everywhere else. i have to say, montreal has them all beat. wicked good herb for cheap, beautiful women (and men), amazing, multicultural, humungous drum circle every sunday, ridiculous amounts of reggae (and any other kind of music), and the list goes on and on. and shit, even the street kids are sweet and nice. the punks that ive met there are sweeter than the "hippies" in arcata! no longer a need to go to NYC or even San Fran, im stickin with montreal. and for nature freaks, like san francisco, montreal is in close proximity to plenty of wild places. dont forget, the adirondacks and vermonts green mountains (as well as burlington) are only an hour away!

Comment: Montreal is a great city. sunday''s ritual tamtams is something i love doing best. all cultures reunite and dance, smoke the herb. im looking for more people like me, who enjoy the hippie culture.

Comment: Montreal is great....Very tolerant city, even tolerant to intolerance. Last summer there were a few weekends at the tamtams (weekly Sunday Drumming and dance and general collective picnic) where 10000 to 15000 people were picnicking, dancing and drumming....of course all under the graceful statue of the archangel. Lots to b said of simple tolerance via love, compassion. Since we are all ultimately conditioned thru life and learning to understand our differences creates a stronger unit or collective towards that great shift to superconsciousness or Collective Christ Consciousness or Collective Bodhi Mind. It''s a great time to be alive. Life is art. That art is reflected every moment in the way we live, learn and balance those great brushstrokes in life....Am I making any sense? For those interested check out Native American prophecies, Nostradamus prophecies, and do a search on the dual meaning behind the number eleven and just slide down that rabbit hole.
