I know I was an unwanted pregnancy, because after I was born I was put up for adoption. So I really don't feel that I should have been denied the right to exist simply because I was an inconvinience.

I beleive that not only is abortion correct, but that it should be mandatory. I also beleive that all children under the age of 27 should be executed, and their carcasses used as nourishment for elderly hippies.

I personally couldn't do it, as I believe I don't have the right to take life away. But in some cases I can condone it, because the life that the baby will lead will be a bad one, as many people cannot cope with parenthood, or they don't want to and will abuse their child. Sometimes abortion is the best way out.

I think abortion is wrong. Someone said that sometimes abortion is good because the parents who be unfit, and abortion is the best way out. I think that's bullshit. Killing an innocent baby just because the parents would be bad parents? They should give the kid up for adoption. I've heard people say that the woman should be able to choose, because it's her body. Fuck that! She should have used protection so she wouldn't have gotten knocked up. I guess there are some cicumstances when abortion is ok. Like if the mother and/or baby's life is in danger, or if the baby would be born severly brain damaged, to the point that s/he wouldn't be able to enjoy life. Anyway, sorry for babbling, that's just what I think.

Although a embryo hasn't developed to the point we call it a baby given time it could. The womans body is only the carrier of developing genetic information. So why is it only the womans choice, the genetic information is only half hers. The male that is the other half of this process has no say. If he wants the child to be born, no say. If he wants the child terminated, no say. If a woman takes the child to term a man is expected to provide support. He has no say in this matter. Even though it's his body that must do the work that provides this support. A much longer process than having a baby. It is a responsibility issue. If the woman does not want to take responsibility fine but give the guy the same right to choose.

I can't believe how narrow-minded some of you are. I don't support abortion per se, but I support the right to choose. I personally would never get an abortion because I think it's wrong. But just because I think it's wrong, it doesn't mean everybody else does. And what right do I have to tell other people what they can or can't do, anyway? Nobody has that right. Even when it comes to a sensitive thing such as abortion. If you think that women shouldn't be able to get an abortion just because you think it's wrong, that is just plain selfish, because you are making them live by your standards. If you believe in God and were denied the right to worship just because some Atheists said it's "wrong," or they don't agree with it, would that be right? It's the same difference. And some of you pro-lifers are beginning to sound like a broken record. "Abortion is murder!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Is that the only argument you can come up with?

I think it should be allowed sometimes. What if the girl has been raped? I know she could give it up for adoption, but she may be young and shouldn't have to carry the baby if she doesn't want take care of it. But on the same time, if she is younger, say 14, 15, and she has sex (not rape) and get's pregnant. In that case I think she should keep the baby. You shouldn't have had sex at that young age!

well, all i know is that it definitely shouldn't be allowed for everyone. my roommate was thinking of an abortion for the simple reason that she was too...i don't know...silly i think, to go out and get some sort of birth control. she's not against birth control, just wouldn't take the time to get it. so she'd go home from school, have fun with her man, and come back and until she got her period all i heard was, "oh god what if i'm pregnant! oh god oh god! i'm pregnant i know i am!" so...for people who just don't want to take responsibility for their actions...i don't really see abortion being alright...but that's really just a matter of how mature someone is i think. for a rape pregnancy however...that's a whole different sort of monster. i'd like to think i would let the poor baby live...i'd put it up for adoption though....i'd like to think that anyway...hopefully i'll never have to make that kind of choice. tricky subject, abortion. i don't know which side i'm on half the time.

I believe that it is a woman's, or in some cases both parents decision to decide on. I personally would not have the procedure just because I messed up and got pregnant. But I feel that if I was raped, or the baby might be born with horrible, deformaties that would keep it in a hospital all it's life, then as hard as it would be, I would go through with it. What we all need to understand is that we have freedom and certain rights. Each one of us has done something that someone else didn't approve of, and we still did it. Your life is your own to do with as you wish. I say let the women have as many abortions as they want, it is not my place to say wether it is right or wrong. The one person they have to answer to will let them know his opinion on judgement day.

Abortion is a very personal decision for a woman to make. Once the procedure is carried out. She lives with the consequences for the rest of her life. Is it right or wrong? Well, we can debate this point until we are all blue in the face. But, even if the procedure was made illegal tomorrow. It will not stop abortions. It will it be just sent back to the pre-1973 back alleys. To the good ole days, when higher income women would go to private or foriegn clinics. While low income women to go back to ingesting posions or rely on back alley butchers. Yes, boys and girls! If money is to be made the butchers will be back!

I completely agree that it is a woman’s right to determine the embryo's existence.

I also think, along with that, that it be the duty of those close to her, her family, and her friends. At least point out the importance and significance of this newly forming being and the wonderful possibilities that could lie ahead.

On the other hand, it used to be a matter of survival, such as an environmental influence that that can only sustain so much life.

Perhaps because of the knowledge we have of this drastic population growth that will be experienced in the next 20 years, it actually turns out to be a very responsible and honorable act.

Where we would be right now if Eve would have had an abortion?

The best thing I ever did in my life was to help talk a friend out of having an abortion, that was eight years ago and although Bryan is not my son by blood, and by my own blood I have none, he is my spirit son. So much joy has come from this, so many tears from wanting more.

Is wanting to be a father in a situation like this, a draw back?

The decision to abort the fetus is not an easy one, it should never be.

It should also be law that every woman only have 1 child

Abortion is a neccesary evil. I am so grateful not to have been in the position where I have to make that kind of a choice. What I donīt like is when itīs being used as a contraception. Let me tell you a little story: An ex classmate of mine was admitted to the hospital some years ago. In the same room as she was put in were 2 other women, one who couldnīt get pregnant and one who said she was there to have her 5th abortion. Imagine what it must have felt like to hear that for the woman who couldnīt get pregnant.

It is hard to imagine not being, yet if I was aborted I would not exist. This just doesn't seem right to me. The statistics of how many abortions are due to rape or the mother or baby dieing is ridiculously low so that is not really the issue. Does a person have the right to decide whether or not I exist. I used to be a pro-lifer until the time my family thought my sister may have been pragnent(thank God she wasn't) but with allthe worries we went through she felt abortion would have been the best situation for everyone if it turned out she was pragnant.I used to give all the arguments yoou so-called pro-lifers would give,"abortion is murder","it's her own fault"and my favorite"it's a child not a choice". Well let me tell you some of the facts, first young girls who end up pragnent are the most likely to end up in poverty, second it's only half her fault, third is we should care about the quality of lifeseeing children who grow up in poverty are most likely to suffer from psychological traumas.I hear many people who believe abortion is ok if the woman or girl was raped, this depends on how you define rape what if the girl was heavely drunk or stoned of drugs where she wouldn't hunderstand what was going on yet the guy was perfectly sober and just using her for his own sick pleasure, should that be considered rape?Another hypathetical situation, what if the protection the couple was using failed(yes it happennds when people don't use it right). On top of it all is how would her life be if she had a child when she didn't want to,was forced to give it up for adoption, and missed out on all that work and/or school she was spose to do, ahuold she really have to put her life on hold for this? I have nothing against adoption, many pro-lifers fear that all women or girls in unwanted pragnencies sould choose abortion but the truth is most of them don't so choice does work.unwanted pragnencies are the most difficult thing for a woman or girl to go through so they need options yet they only have 3 eliminate 1 and you take away one third of her choices.

What's life? The body or the spirit?

Life is the spirit- the body is just accomodating it.
If the body is unwanted, but the woman goes through with the pregnancy anyway, and gives birth, that new person is not going to be strictly wanted or loved.
What makes more sense is to abort the pregnancy, so the unwanted body disapears and the spirit will come into the world through a wanted body.
