If you were to gather all the world's population and put them all into one area thet would take up an are about the size of Alaska, therfore that arguement does not hold water, though i feel that proper family planning such as birth contrtol should be practiced. Capitalism is not the problem but corporate welfare is! The former puts more of the commerce in the hands of more of the populace-The latter puts more commerce in to fewer people's hands! We need to get more of the these large corporations off the dole by ensuring that laws passed benefit all of the populace-not just their industries! We need common sense environmentalism that makes polluters pay and goes after major offenders first! We need to make alternative fuels (like hemp) availiable so that we can rely less on foreign oil and protect the environment better! We should also make more of our products from hemp and other natural products and less from chemicals! We need the US military to come home to defend America. If possible, downsize the military to a level only that is needed! Get countries like Israel, Germany and Japan to pay for their own defenses- There's no need for the US to be the world's policeman! This should decrease the incentive for terrorism as well. At the same time we need a defense that will protect us from enemy attacks. We need, in my opinion, an anti ballistic missile defense system.
I'm concerned that the 'theocratic right' is trying to walk all over too many of our freedoms. With people feeling 'lost' in the world, it is understandable why people will turn to "cultic" religious persuasions. we must learn to educate ourselves on genuine spiritual matters and to confront these demagogues head-on. Until last summer, the US in some jurisdictions, had some of the most draconian laws dealing with sexual conduct outside most Muslim and some other totalitarian countries. This was disgraceful for a country which is supposed to be the freest nation in the world! What goes on in one's bedroom is their own business!
Back to the issue of the environment, one thing we must do is to create incentives to revitalize our cities so as to prevent as much as possible urban sprawl. Also revitalize the countryside and encourage farming as a worthwile occupation. While I dont like Bush, I'm not convinced that any of the democrats have the answer either. I'm voting Libertarian!

The road to real change (Score: 0) by FatherMarkoHenri on Wednesday, February 25 @ 17:02:14 CET (User Info ) | There's only one "problem" in the world causing all the havoc and it is a spiritual problem: the lack of love. We see ourselves as separate from everyone else.
There cannot be world peace before people have inner peace.
Try this: start to see everyone else as yourself. Even if you didn't believe that we are all one, start to act as if everyone you meet were you, merely in a different outer form. This may sound stupid, but just try it for a week (or a day if you like) and notice how you feel then. How do you think the mindset of seeing everything as separate is more true than unity. The universe is One Whole after all, isn't it?

Re: frustrated (Score: 0) by daisy on Friday, February 27 @ 03:01:00 CET (User Info ) | I am so frustrated with the world today. To think that there was once a time where the earth, the environment was the most important thing in the world and the biggest thing people depended on. Today, the only thing that really matters to people is money and how much they have, and how much stupid shit they own. What do people do on a daily basis?... wake up, eat, work, more work, come home, eat, sleep. and do it all over again the next day and so on. My only question is... were we really meant to live like this. I just think the world is so beautiful and people are just abusing it. Really they are waisting there time. Money is not good for the soul!
