i think marijuana should be legal for anyone to smoke. it is just a plant, i don't know why the government sees it as a threat. now they police the world just because of marijuana. the saddest part is they are destroying a culture. marijuana has been in cultures from China to the Native Americans, a medicine for the mind. as gray slick sang "feed your head".....its the truth. and by making it illegal they are making there beliefs seem "inferior" to thiers. down with the BUSH administration, he is gonna destroy the world with his stupidity.... "it's not pollution thats destroying our earth, it's the impurities in our air and water" that was stated by president bush, how can we trust some one like this with enough weapons to destroy our earth in 2 seconds? all i know is marijuana will save the world, far before it destroys it.

Ganja is completely harmless, in my opinion it is perfectly natural to enjoy some of the best herbs on gods green earth. It gives you trippy vibes and it is ultimate for getting high. I am 83 years old and have been smoking weed since I was a teen and I am in perfect health and a perfect state of mind so I say lest us be free to smoke the wacki baccie.

I think marajuana should be legall for everybody because it's a naturall plant and ciggaretts are wosre and the only thing bad is that it fucks you up. but so doesn't alchol.and it helps for medical reasons.it also takes longer to get lung cancer so that's why it should be legall.

I think it's up to people themself. There is nothing wrong with smoking some herbs. People have been doing it since mankind exsisted. Personally I think the use of alcohol is way much more dangerous for your health and the state of your mind. I never have seen anyone gettingagressive after using pot or hash. Cannabis can be used for medicinal causes as well, but since most of the gouvernmensts fight against cannanbis as if it was an enemy of the state which pollutes their youngsters, docters don't dare to recognize the qualities of cannabis. But people vannot stay stupid forever. I think that in a few decenia cannabis will be sold next to cofee and ciggies...

Why should it not be legalized. Cannibis along with medical uses can be use for recreation and can be used for spirituality development which is what more of the world would do. As for everyone doing it if it is legal... well you might be right but anything done too much... except maybe meditating, is usually not advantageous for an idividual. I'd rather come home from a hard day at work and light up a joint/smoke a bowl than crack open a beer. I feel my creative instinct kick in when I smoke. Sad to say, tobacco is worse because it is so addictive once used regularly. I started smoking tobacco to cover up the smell of marijuana because it is illegal to use. I might not be smoking cigarettes if it weren't for the law *maybe I would* Humans have been altering there state since the beginning of know existance. Alcohol, nicotine, and many other drugs. The only reason I see that it is illegal and other drugs (not counting the one hit and your dead kind) is that it allows us to look within ourselves and maybe... just maybe think of a different way of doing things which would cause the power to shift from the haves to the have nots over the long run. Anyhow just rambling, let me know what you thing :oD.

Have you been around since the beginning of time? Or do you just think you have becuase you've been smoking a mind altering drug?
Marijuana smoke is more damaging to the lungs than tobacco smoke, it is addictive, and it impairs your judgement and behavior, look it up.
What I'm hearing here is a group of uneducated drug users trying to convince society to make their vice legal so they don't have to feel like they're doing anything wrong anymore.

Since the Beginning
There are tribes that have been documented that use mind/body altering drugs for good purposes. For one psycadelics have been used for many spiritual adventures, peyote for one. There are nuts that a certain tribe use that have 5% nicotine (cigarettes contain less than 1%) that they chew to travel long distances because it surpresses the apptite. Others have been know to use coco leafs to increase oxygen flow in high altatudes. Because you have not heard of these does not mean they do not exist. And for one... alcohol has been used for a loooong time. Who are you or the government to tell me what is so called right and wrong. Shouldn't that be something I listen to myself to find out. Of course drugs are not healthy, especially when used constantly, but besides the physical consequences of the drug there are some good things that can be gained from them. Because you might not have experienced any of them doesn't mean they don't exist. Me smoking a joint does not hurt anyone except myself. If it bothers you so much then why don't you just look away. Hemp in general, if made legal, would do so many things that would greatly improve the earth and its people as a whole. It can grow nearly everywhere, we can make paper, clothes, super strong rope. I think its kinda funny that we make a plant illegal. Whats next, animals... not allow to have a dog because it might kick up some allergies. Everything is here for us to use in moderation. Humans tend to exploit things such as oil/fossil fuels, drug, other humans. Understand that if you think it such a bad thing... don't do it but do not impose what you think is right or wrong on others. If everyone did this then nobody would have any freedoms.

legal to those over 18 because at the age of 18, people are allowed to think for themselves, well in britain they are, and i think that if your under 18, you are still naive and that maybe are not sure of what you want to do.

hey smokin herb is great, but just like anything else u shouldnt impose your choices on others. when u drive high no matter how great u think ur doin u r putting other people in danger.i mean people get get as drunk as they want, so why not get high? but drinkin and driving is just wrong. just so long as ur choices are not imposing, infringing, or harming anyone else, people should be able to freely make their own choices

If the government which has our "best interests" at heart allows people to smoke cigarretes which are proven to give people lung deseases and cancer, then citizens over 18 should be allowed to smoke marijuana which to my knowledge has not caused any life threatening condition.

I feel that pot should be decriminalized, rather than legalized. There are in fact a large number of Americans who suffer from addiction problems directly attributted to pot. If we were to set up treatment centers and proper methods of counseling; then problems could be elliminated, and those who can handle it responsibly can. However, on another note, just as people say freedom of religion; so people say freedom to smoke pot. Well, I say, I want freedom FROM religion; as well as freedom FROM drug use(pot smokers), and those who propagate its use and culture. Do what you choose in the privacy of your own home. It seems that people feel that freedom is the ability to impose a will upon another therefore allowing a certain style of life to be experienced hmmmm sounds if we have a double standard going here. I don't want to smell it, see it, or be confronted with it at every turn. Please don't impose upon me your life choices. Then perhaps we can meet together without ideology and criticism. Maybe then we can deal with the real issues in our country, other than bickering about getting high.

People don't respect the herb as it is, legalization would mean loads of narrowminded people getting high and thinking they are really cool and that's not the point. I think it should be decriminalised, but not legal, If you've been to amsterdam, you'll see the effects it's had, racism, drugpushers on the street trying to sell you crack and heroin and an overall creepy seedy feel. People seem to have forgotten the point of smoking...it's not just to lose the plot!!!

Myself i dont smoke up but i used to.... i dont smoke up by choice the same i dont drink by choice, i think it should be legalized because it isnt a hard drug and it doesn't make people violent like alcohol and hard drugs do..... i'm sure it will bring the crime rate down if it is legalized!!!!! MJ should be legal for anyone over 18, like cigarettes or cigars. Smoking anything is physically bad for you. There are residues in all types of smoke that can damage your lungs, therefore, it should be controlled like tobacco so our childen don't jump in the fire too early. If MJ were decriminalized and sold like cigarettes, not only would the gov't could make a killing on the tax revenue generated, the prison population would be cut in half and law enforcement could put their enerigies towards our safety rather than our opression.
Shall we now discuss the other prositives of MJ? You know them all, I'm sure. Besides, its a plant. How can one save the planet if there are illegal plants?? They must be there for a reason. People fight to save the habitats of all sorts of animals from bugs to zebras. Why not the same fervor for plants?

There is not one documented human death directly attributed to marijuana! Why is it illegal? Prohibitionists of marijuana need to get a life for Gods sakes! We have proven our case over and over and over again! It is to bad that the ignorance and power trips of prohibititionists is still exists today. According to a Cancer study at UCLA marijuana users also have the same or lower incidence of murders and highway deaths and accidents than the general non - using marijuana population as a whole. Second studies in Jamaica, 1968 to 1974, Costa Rican studies confirm the same 1980 to 1982 et,al.
FACT - In all American studies marijuana has proven itself to be of lowest toxicity in humans, so again why is it still illegal? HMMMMM?

I think that marijuana should remain illegal, beacause if it is legalized it will be controlled by the gorvernmet and the government sucks, and if it's controlled by the government they would be selling us shitty weed and the prices will go up. If it remains illegal, we will get good weed for less. Also it is more fun to do something illegal unless of course you get caught, but you just have to be careful about that stuff.

I think that the government should just chill. If they would allow marijuana to be grown legally in the states, they could even tax it for all I care. Then we could definately get this country out of debt, it's not like the consumption of such a magnificent herbal remedy would decline in the least. License those to grow it, tax those of us who would buy it, but most of all, educate properly on the effects, benefits, and downfalls(if any). Now, I could seriously go on an all out rant for many pages, but I won't, you all get the picture.

I am 15 years old and i have smoked pot allot,before i smoked pot i also researched it to make sure it was safe. It is a proven fact that NO one has ever died because of marijuana. Marijuana makes you forget your problems much like most of you claim achohol does except it doesnt make you totally off your head. If marijuana was worse for you then achohol, which is legal, then why do you have hangovers? Because your body cant take whats in achohol so it needs to get rid of it. Marijuana does mostly the opopsit by helping cancer pations not feel sick so they can eat! I think marijuana should be legal for anyone over 18 because there isnt any harm and it makes you feel good. I hope the goverement will maybe re consider.

I think MJ should be legal for people over the age of 18. For one thing, no one has ever died from pot overdose. All it does is make you feel good. Is that so bad? According to the American government, it is. Also, not to sound cliche, but doesn't alcohol have a much worse effect on a person? I've never been violent while I was high. In fact, it's always quite the opposite. I've never been drunk, but my father gets mean as hell when he's drunk. So does many others. So what's the big deal w/ pot? Besides, America could make a fortune off of it.

I think the government makes too big of a deal about marrijuana, what? you roll it, smoke it, get light headed, eat alot of food, sleep, then do it all over again. nobody is gonna stop doing it, its a way of life for millions of my fellow stoners, they say its a gateway drug, bull shit, i know so many fuckin people that are just satisified with weed, and if other drugs come along, so fuckin what, you gotta know what the fuck your doing, and not be a dumbass about it, Jesus Christ! if anything, weed mellows people out, i think it should be illegal not to smoke weed, ha! fuck the government! fuck them all to hell, now that im all mad and shit, i'll just go smoke a joint and i'll feel alot fuckin better...

I think this one was hard to answer. Just because I don't think we should really have an age limit on anything. 100 years ago you could marry at the age of 12. I figure as long as they are 13 or older and can make decitions on there own then they should decide wiether or not they want to smoke or not.

I think it should be legal for use to anyone who wants it. if cigarettes are legal, why isn't this? Marijuana does no more harm than tobacco and if people want to smoke it, then why not? enough people do already and legalisation would give everyone what they want. For some people it would give them the marijuana, and for others who don't want it, they wouldn't have to because no one is making them use it.

Alcohol is legal when you're 21, and it's not a natural substance either, and can lead to alcoholism and drunk driving. Marajuna on the hand, is natural. I've been smoking weed for years, and it is a common, non trouble causing pastime that I enjoy. WE've got to legalize it man!

except for the spaceyness and memory loss, marijuana hasnt altered my mind at all. i think it should be legal for anyone, and everyone who wants it. its less harmful than cigaretes and alcohol..so whats the big deal? it makes us happy? yeah..the government doesnt want us happy, and at peace.
