around my forehead,
beads in my hair,
and flowers engraved on my skin.
When anything goes,
and you are not judged
for stepping on your pants,
wearing shredded shirts,
and no bra to boot
I'd wear my hair naturally wild
with attitude.
I'd dance in the rain with no umbrella
and free daisies haloed on my head.
But I will only fantasize
as I look through old photographs of mom and dad
and their bellbottoms,
their platforms,
their beaded belts.
And maybe I'll remind them
how cool and hip they were,
when they threaten to shorten my pants.
