Cyberactivists brought down the the web site of the World Economic Forum in a "virtual sit-in." The attack was coordinated by the Electronic Disturbance Theater, Electronic Civil Disobedience and the Federation of Random Action.
The activists have been urging people to help with the attacks on www.weforum.org. At Indymedia.org. messages from those groups took credit for the crash.
Charles McLean, the forum's communications director said, "We regard it as a nuisance. We hope the site goes back up soon."
This was just one of many non-violent activities protesting the globalization summit in New York.
